The enclosures are great. I didn't test the max transfer speed since I'm using them with a few older hard drives, but it is above USB2.0 speeds, therefore must be USB 3.0. Cases are made out of plastic, though they feel quite sturdy to the touch and don't bend. The top lid slides in and then locks in place. To remove the hard drive, you slide the top lid backwards to release it. I was a bit skeptical, because I wasn't sure my HDDs would fit inside. They're a bit 'taller' than the 2.5" SSDs I have, and have previously had troubles getting them into a laptop. This case, however, is the perfect size. Greatly recommended, and thank you for the item!
