In practice, this adapter lifts the ROG Ally's main storage limit. The console only takes an SSD in the small 2230 format; this card, folded at 90°, lets you fit an M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD, far more common and available in high capacities. You screw the 2280 SSD on, install it in the console and clone the original system (with software such as DiskGenius) to get everything back. The kit provides the adapter, the screws and a mini screwdriver. Note: fitting means opening the console and takes a minimum of know-how. No more running out of room on the Ally — just more games installed, for anyone handy with a screwdriver.
