Product details
In use, this small sound card restores a headset-microphone jack to a device that lacks one. Connected via USB, it adds a 3.5 mm TRRS (4-pole) jack: the same one that combines audio and microphone for smartphone and gaming headsets. It restores audio and microphone functionality when the original jack port is broken, or when a portable device has only one inconvenient jack. Its smart chip automatically recognizes headsets compliant with CTIA and OMTP standards and decodes the signal with minimal distortion (SNR of 95 dB); the headphone output goes up to 24 bits/96 kHz and the microphone input up to 16 bits/48 kHz. Plug and play, it requires no drivers on Windows, macOS, Linux, Chrome OS, iOS and Android, and also works on PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch. Ultra-thin format, it fits everywhere. Important points: it accepts single-jack TRRS headsets (not headsets with two separate jack plugs for headset + microphone), it does not work on PS3 or on TV/car, and on PS4/PS5 the left/right channels may be reversed. Time for a headset-microphone that works via USB, provided you have the right type of headset.
Compatibility and uses
This USB sound card adds a single 3.5 mm TRRS jack (headset + microphone combined on a single 4-pole connector). It is plug and play, driver-free, on Windows, macOS, Linux, Chrome OS, iOS, Android, PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch. Important: it is designed for SINGLE-JACK TRRS headsets (smartphone/gaming type), and is NOT suitable for headsets with two separate jacks (headset + microphone). It does not work on PS3 (USB port without audio), nor on TV or car radio. On PS4/PS5, the left/right channels may be reversed (difference in sampling rate). On smartphone, OTG must be enabled. Select your version from the menu: standard model, with extension cable, with USB-C adapter (OTG), or extension cable + OTG.
