In use, this optical cable transmits sound digitally, via light. Plugged between a TV, a player or a console and a soundbar, a home theater amplifier or a DAC, it carries the audio signal without any loss or interference: since the information travels through fiber optics, it is completely immune to electrical and magnetic interference (RFI/EMI). It supports stereo PCM and Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1 surround sound, for a home theater with clear sound.
